Western Somerset Local Action Group
“Towards a low Carbon Economy”
Update April 2009
The Executive Committee has been very active since its formation in December 2008. With the Development Plan for 2009 completed and submitted, a contract has now been signed by the Accountable Body (Somerset County Council) and the SWRDA, which allows the Executive Committee to commence work on the investment programme in our local communities using the £2.25 million European funds allocated to Western Somerset. Application Forms for Expressions of Interest for large scale projects will be available very shortly, as well as Application Forms for small grants (£1,000 - £10,000) and for larger investments.
These application forms and other important details will be available and downloadable from the website which will be launched in June 2009.
To learn more about this exciting programme and to enable you to inform the Committee about your plans and projects, there will be a meeting of members of the Quantock Parish Cluster, together with local members of the Federation of Small Businesses at the Main Hall of Bridgwater College, Cannington on Thursday May 21 2009 at 7:00pm. You are welcome to attend and play an active part in this important process in our local Community. UPDATE: Please note that the meeting place and times have now been changes.
