A week of live music
June 2001
Nether Stowey Primary School was the place to be for good music the
week of the 18th June. The school staged a week long Music Extravaganza.
Last year the children of the school impressed the part time Music Teacher,
Alison Foyle, so much that she wanted to do the same again but for longer.
They applied for a grant and on Red Nose day this year they were
given the news that they had it. The hard work of both Alison and Sara
of the school PTA has made this a week that the children, parents and
local community, one that they will remember.
The talented youngsters impressed everyone, and on the nights of the 21st June and the 22nd the whole community was invited to come along, either to take part if they wished, or to just watch and listen to the music, in two spectacular evening concerts. There was music to suit everyone -- and a bar!
What a wonderful week! "Can we have the same next year" the request has been, broadcast (Perhaps if we are all very nice to Alison and Sara they may be talked into it). The whole week was great, the music was wonderful, the children enjoyed everything, their enthusiasm had to be seen. The experience was amazing for everyone concerned, if you had the privilage of being there then you know what I mean. Here we have included some photographs, with many thanks to Trevor Powell and Simon Youe. I hope that they can give you some idea of what went one during the week and if you were there I hope they will bring back some very agreeable memories .
